ITE Alaska

The Alaska ITE Section was chosen to host the 2011 Western District Annual Meeting and the Local Arrangements Committee (LAC) is busy at work planning for and organizing the event. One of the first activities organized was a logo contest. The LAC is happy to announce that the winning logo was designed by Alaska resident and current University of Colorado Boulder student Brian Campbell. Brian was awarded $500 for his design and the LAC looks forward to using the logo and theme on all future 2011 Annual Meeting business and promotional materials.

LAC Co-chairs Anne Brooks and Joann Mitchell traveled to Denver for the 2009 Western District Annual Meeting to check out the program and meet the many dedicated organizers for tips and advice on putting on a great conference.

They also had the chance to promote the 2011 Annual Meeting and encouraged people to check Alaska off their "Bucket List" by handing out miniature buckets. Not only do the buckets hold paper clips but they also serve as a simple reminder that a trip to the great state of Alaska is not to be missed.
